Of The Heart Where I Have Roots

I am Danielle. I am an Aceino. I was once a Skomba, but I married James Matthew Aceino and now we have a family. We had a son and named him Elliot James. People like to say he looks a lot like a Skomba, but he is an Aceino. His birth certificate says so.

A year ago we decided to move to Santa Cruz, CA. We decided because we felt led. We had an enormous amount of dreams. We moved with anticipation. We did not look back. I was pregnant and this caused tension in our leaving. But we listened to He who called us and we went.

We met wonderful people. We had amazing experiences. We had tough times, but we let love take it's rightful ground in our hearts and we learned the loyalty of marriage. As you can tell from the constant use of the word "we", we have learned to be a team. In our family every dream is considered, no matter the seemingly impossible circumstances.

I don't know about you, but a move across the country seems pretty permanent. However, after about a year of minimal paying jobs, losing a well-paying job and becoming flat broke, we felt it was time to move eastwards yet again. We made the journey back to Jersey. We came back with a child. He turned five months on the road and handled the drive like the angel baby he is.

So the present story is this: Our hearts are longing to take root, to place our feet upon our home's ground. We move in circles in our thoughts- going from dreaming to realizing, all the while searching the internet for a place to live. Yet, I cannot touch the pictures and where are the people? Right now, with the absence of a plan, my roots are with my family. My home is in the hearts of my husband and my son. The place is somewhere and we are on deck, waiting to make the first move.
